Matthäus Fandrejewski representing CESI Youth mentioned that for the young people precarious work is a growing trend and it is linked to a deep feeling of insecurity towards all aspects of life: no possibility to enjoy financial freedom, predictability, path to self-development, training. He also emphasized the role of trade unions in ensuring better working conditions through collective bargaining, the right to information and representation. The people in the audience resonated with him: ‘Values are changing. Young people want to exercise their right to work-life balance. This doesn’t mean they should be exploited. Flexibility & quality jobs are not mutually exclusive.’
